Bookshelf Challenge: An Overview

The following is a Q&A of sorts with details on my "Unread Bookshelves of Doom" challenge and it's "rules".

Note: I tried to write this in third person as if phantom readers were asking me questions and I totally freaked myself out. Couldn't do it. So I asked myself questions and answered them. It's totally less weird that way.

The Plan, Man

The plan, right now, is to post three entries a week and a possible bonus Sunday wrap-up every couple of weeks.

One of those weekly posts will be a status update on the personal reading challenge I've set for the year called "The Unread Bookshelf Of Doom Challenge" which will more often go by the simple title "Bookshelf Challenge" though I reserve the right to trot out the doom whenever I see fit.

I am challenging myself to read 50 paper books this year from my unread shelves. This was the project that initially motivated me to start a shiny new book blog in the first place.  Because I've already written a lot of content for this, a FAQ will post later today followed by roll-outs of write-ups for the first 3 books over the weekend.

The other two weekly entries will be some combination of full-length reviews, mini-reviews, and essays.

Alright alright, enough with the yapping, on with the actual book-related content!

An Introduction

Hello,

My name is Tabs and I read romance novels.  I read a shit-ton of romance novels, to be more precise.

Though I've been writing about my reading experiences for years on various websites, what I haven't done until now is given myself a space of my own devoted entirely to that purpose.  Since 2007, I've been blogging over at brainspillages.blogspot.com (I know, that title's a piece of work... naming things is not a strong suit of mine). Initially, that blog was a catch-all space and was not intended to be a book blog. Eventually, it turned out that all I wanted to write about was books and the blog lost it's direction.

So, I decided I needed to start fresh with a blog with a new (BFF approved) fancy shmancy topic-appropriate title that doesn't unintentionally make anyone think about leaking brain matter.

So, here we go, let the romance blogging commence!

Don't worry, I have a plan.  (Sorta).
